Qihang Zhang is an internationally recognized product designer whose work spans data visualization, music technology, and AI-powered digital experiences. With a Master’s degree from Harvard University and additional academic training at UCLA and the University of Oxford, Zhang brings an interdisciplinary and research-informed approach to design, blending technical innovation with human-centered thinking.

He currently serves as Senior Product Designer at Chartmetric, a global leader in music analytics, where he leads the creation of tools that turn complex data into accessible insights for artists and industry professionals. His work has helped elevate how streaming data, fan behavior, and music trends are visualized and understood at scale.

Zhang has received over 50 international design awards for excellence in UX/UI, mobile applications, SaaS platforms, and interaction design. His accolades include the iF Design Award, Indigo Design Award, NY Product Design Awards, Vega Digital Awards, Muse Creative Awards, TITAN Innovation Awards, and NYX Awards. He has been honored with four A’ Design Awards across different projects—Talent Search, Chartmetric Mobile Music Analytics App, Blueline, and Memory Land—demonstrating both versatility and sustained impact in both commercial and conceptual design.

His work has been featured in major exhibitions, including Art Shopping Paris at the Louvre and Re:Craft – ICFF NYC 2025, a Dezeen-curated physical showcase at the Javits Center in New York. Zhang’s design approach often explores the emotional and social dimensions of technology, especially in areas such as memory preservation, artist empowerment, and digital storytelling.

Beyond his studio practice, Zhang actively contributes to the global design community. He has served as a juror for international competitions such as the Globee Awards (Customer Experience, AI, Cybersecurity, and Disruptors), Wonder Global Design Awards, Orpetron Web Design Awards, and a range of university designathons and hackathons including HackDavis, Hack for Humanity, and DesignVerse. He also mentors emerging talent through his involvement with the Founder Institute and Alchemist Accelerator.

Zhang’s work is regularly covered by regional and international media, and he continues to advocate for the role of design in shaping socially conscious, aesthetically powerful, and technologically forward experiences.
