İbrahim Fatih Satilmis

Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis is an Istanbul-based industrial designer who works at the intersection of product design and engineering. He holds a BSc in Industrial Design Engineering from Erciyes University and an MA in Product & Furniture Design from Kingston University. His mixed education—technical on one side, craft-focused on the other—shapes a practice that balances precise manufacturing with clear, understated form.

Satilmis founded Studio Soldout to give structure to his freelance projects. The studio’s work ranges from modular lighting to small-batch furniture and brand identity systems for design-driven companies. Regardless of scale, each project follows the same loop: research, quick CAD ideation, working prototype, and measured material impact. Sustainability is treated as a design parameter, not a post-script; every component must be easy to service or recycle.

Recent work includes three collections:

Crackdown – crackle-glass luminaires that turn surface fractures into warm reflections. The series earned a Bronze A’ Design Award in 2024.

Haititi – a decorative light that pairs rust-patinated metal with borosilicate glass in three floor-lamp heights.

Akis – an interactive installation created during his MA, inspired by the idea of “reflection” in Mevlânâ’s Masnavi and later exhibited in London.

Satilmis’s design process blends quick CAD modelling, scale mock‑ups and focused material tests to ensure every detail works as well as it looks. Influenced by Anatolian craft and the calm clarity of modern Japanese interiors, he pursues a quiet minimalism that lets materials speak first. For him, successful design delivers clear use, honest material and engineering that makes repair or recycling straightforward.
Decorative Lighting by Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis

Crackdown Decorative Lighting by Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis Crackdown is a decorative lighting design inspired by the interaction of light and shadow. It utilizes crackle glass to diffuse light in dynamic patterns, reminiscent of sunlight filtering through fractured surfaces. The brass-plated socket was chosen for its warm hue, enhancing the ambient glow. Influenced by Japandi style, the minimalist form balances simplicity and boldness. Made of high-quality metal with a satin finish, its modular design adapts to different interior settings, serving as both floor and pendant lighting.

Rechargeable Table Lamp by Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis

Sukun Rechargeable Table Lamp by Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis Sukun is a table lamp made from travertine and developed around geometric motifs found in selected buildings in Turkiye and Spain. Six patterns are processed on the upper plate to shape a 2700K light output. The lamp provides light upward and downward, creating ambient illumination and task light on the surface with limited glare. Waterjet and CNC machining are used to form the pattern openings and maintain material presence. Sukun is intended for reading areas, living spaces, and hospitality tables.

Coffee Table by Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis

Threshold Coffee Table by Ibrahim Fatih Satilmis Threshold is a coffee table composed of interlocking metal planes that achieve stability without additional fasteners. The structure is formed from Cnc processed and precision bent steel components that slide into engineered slots for tool free assembly. Surface options include brushed steel and matte powder coating to ensure durability. The design focuses on proportion, clarity and ease of installation, presenting a composed metal form suited for residential and commercial interiors.
