Yumeng Li

ILSA YUMENG LI (zh:李雨萌) is an award-winning designer, artist, and innovator with over a decade of professional experience in parametric design, ergonomic engineering, and intelligent Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for automotive interiors. Integrating advanced technologies such as computational design, 3D printing, and pneumatic robotics into the design process, she has redefined the boundaries of design innovation.

As the design director of Pear & Mulberry, her achievements include over 30 prestigious international design awards, with a portfolio that extends from human-centered industrial products to immersive interaction design.

Her work has been recognized by international awards including iF DESIGN AWARD, A’ Design Awards, International Design Awards (IDA) Gold, European Product Design Award (EPDA) Top Design, Design Intelligence Award (DIA), etc., has been featured on Sina News, Yanko Design, Tuvie Design, Sohu News, etc, have been exhibited and collected by MIT Museum, the MOOD Museum in Italy, the Pratt Institute Libraries, International Association of Hui Art & Studies (iHui), and first-tier national museums in China.

Recently, Yumeng has engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations in cultural innovation design. She has formed a team dedicated to the seamless integration of design, culture, and technology, focusing on exhibition experience design utilizing HBIM, AR/VR, and motion capture technologies. Her in-depth research and design projects in reshaping interactive museum experiences have been collected and exhibited by leading national museums in China and adopted by the art departments of universities for educational purposes.

Minimalism in forms, employing widely recognized Zen aesthetics with parametric design, the modules complete the dynamic sand pattern, from a three-piece table object to a whole facade decoration, deploying a Zen atmosphere in minutes. Modular panels embed magnets to ease precise alignment efforts in building, which is friendly to visually impaired people, elders, and users with hand tremors. The patented modular system is quaint with rich texture and organically colored from fully biodegradable material.
