I graduated from the architectural engineering faculty and have always been fascinated by modularity and flexible structure. As an expert in building construction, I recognize that the connectors in a building structure are key to creating rigid constructions. Whether it's wood-to-wood lumber connected by nails, glue, or bolts, or metal-to-metal connected by bolts or welding, the strength of a building relies on these connections. After careful review, I have come to realize that aluminum extrusions have many advantages over traditional wood or metal elements for human shelter. However, connecting two hollow extrusions together has been a problem for over a century. Aluminum welding is too expensive, and bolting two extrusion elements together cannot accept lateral loads. The use of aluminum extrusions for framing buildings has been around since 1904, but it has not become popular in the building industry, except for interior framing. The challenge has always been the connections of the hollow aluminum elements. Few companies in Europe attempted to find locking solutions for connecting two extrusions together, such as Syma-Systems in Switzerland in 1985, but these solutions were only for interior framing. It wasn't until Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983), a renowned architect, invented an interlocking joint for aluminum extrusions to build a geodesic dome structure that a breakthrough was made. After years of research and study, I have invented a better interlocking clamping system for modular aluminum geometric profiles. This innovation allows for easy and quick ways to improve the traditional connector technique of human shelter, making building structures more durable, comfortable, efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable for years to come. With my design, building structures are recyclable, relocatable, and renewable, creating a more sustainable future for us all. As an architectural engineer, I am proud to contribute to the evolution of building construction and to make a positive impact on the world around us.
