I design furniture and multiple use objects, produced in small number of pieces by Álvaro Wolmer Movelaria Fina Ltda., a company created in 1985.

I am also a consultant in design, woodworking and carpentry. I design and assemble art exhibitions.

I collaborate with artists to define the format of some of their art works.

Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro Lamp by Álvaro Wolmer Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro is a lamp inspired by a floor lamp made by a Brazilian artist in about 1955. The only surviving record of the original lamp is a small newspaper photograph. The lamp was recreated with contemporary materials and techniques. The structure is made of solid aluminum shaped by computer controlled machines and finished with electrostatic painting. A single 4W LED light source creates a range of shades, from dark gray to pure white, through internal reflections and the different distances between the source and the white rings.

Bengalas Walking Sticks by Álvaro Wolmer Bengalas is a collection of walking sticks made of red or white oak. Handles are offered in a C shape or a T shape. Walking sticks for men have a diameter of 25 mm, while walking sticks for women are slimmer, with a diameter of 22 mm. The length is made to order. The oak is FSC certified. All handles are reinforced with jacaranda paulista, a Brazilian native wood. The surfaces are finished with tung oil. The replaceable tips are made of aluminum and laminated rubber for a stable contact with the ground.

Cadeira Chair by Álvaro Wolmer This piece of furniture is more than a chair, it's also a collection of samples of 34 wooden species, from Brazil and all over the world; it's a chair one can learn about the diversity of this natural resource. The chair itself answers a question that the designer has been frequently asked in the last 35 years: Which wood is this? It's a comfortable chair that same people just sit down and some people read the names and start a conversation about wood.

Dcl Chair by Álvaro Wolmer Dcl is a chair made entirely of high density fiberboard. Every part is cut with a CNC router. The chair is painted in a bright solid color, and any color can be applied. Seen from a distance, Dcl looks almost like a cubic block of solid color rather than a chair. The design follows a chair study by the Italian architect and designer Cesare Leonardi, which remained a wooden model and was never produced. The name Dcl stands for Dopo Cesare Leonardi, meaning After Cesare Leonardi. The chair measures 55 by 50 by 70 centimeters.
