Boguslaw Barnas graduated from Fachhochschule Muenster in Germany and Cracow University of Technology in Poland. Bogusław founded BXBstudio in December 2009 after working for a number of internationally known practices, including Foster and Partners, Make Architects, Ingarden & Ewy Architekci. Since Febuary 2012 academic employee at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University (AFMKU) at the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts. In 2014 Boguslaw Barnaś was selected as one of 20 world’s best young architectural talent by Wallpaper* and his projects were presented at London Festival of Architecture. In 2015 Barnaś was selected to top 15 best Polish architects under 40 according to Property Design. In 2018 he received Architekci Małopolski 2017 Award – for The Polish Eaves Cottage Design and PLGBC Green Building Awards for the best sustainable design – Eco Warsaw Tower. In 2018 he was selected to top 25 best polish architectural studios according to Property Design. In 2019 he received PLGBC Green Building Award for the best sustainable design – Symbiotic House.

The Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage Residential Architecture by Boguslaw Barnas The Lesser Polish Eaves Cottage is a house which was inspired by the Polish wooden arcade architecture. The search for regional features characteristic for single-family housing led designer to discover forgotten traditional eaves houses of the region. The design was created in order to accommodate a 4-person family space, located on the unusual long and narrow plot of irregular shape. There were separated as many as five different levels, legally falling within the definition of a two-story building.

The Farmhouse Residential Architecture by Boguslaw Barnas The Farmhouse is an example of the transformation of a typical rural homestead into a residential mansion. In the place of five existing farm buildings scheduled for demolition, the project team proposed five contemporary farm buildings. The newly designed forms have a shape, which results from the reference to the existing farm layout, terrain, view axes, functional needs, division into residential zones and location of trees.

Eco House Residential by Boguslaw Barnas This project of sustainable house is located in the protected landscape area Nature 2000, surrounded by beech and oak forests, horse riding meadows and agricultural lands. Number of analysis defined the final shape of the house, among them: analysis of functional plan, division into day, night, technical and working zones; analysis of solar radiation; to optimize solar gain and to create interiors with proper natural light.

The Krakow Tenement Hotel by Boguslaw Barnas The Krakow Tenement House near the Wawel Royal Castle defines a completely new quality of the Vistula embankments. This building is extremely innovative and very Krakow-like at the same time. It has a dynamic and variable style depending on the observer's location, which directly refers to the context of the place, the historical castle and its surroundings. It takes advantage of the technological potential of the times, but at the same time, it is durable and timeless since it is rooted in tradition.
