I have a bachelors degree in Three Dimensional Design (specializing in furniture design) awarded by Leeds Metropolitan University in 2000. Since graduating I have run my own business as a furniture designer and maker, working in London, Ireland, and now Czechia, focusing mainly on bespoke projects in domestic and commercial settings, designing and making free standing furniture and entire interior shop/café/hotel installations. I am a craftsman as much as a designer and specialize in the use of hardwoods. I currently run small workshop, with one employee. More recently I branched out into lighting with the 2022 Silver A Design award winning 'Magic Lamp', where I combined 3D printed parts with natural hardwoods.

Magic Lamp by Daragh Enright The Magic Lamp's form is inspired by the form of the mushroom Psilocybe semilanceata, a species of fungus with a distinctive conical to bell-shaped cap that produces psychoactive compounds, otherwise known as the Magic Mushroom. The pearl white shade is 3D printed with a plant based plastic. As the light shines through it, the spiralling concentric lines created by the layering of material in the printing process are highlighted. Underneath the head are mushroom like gills, also 3D printed. The combination of materials, and it's natural form, stand out as the main features of this design.
