Serhii Makhno — architect, designer, ceramist, and collector. He is the founder of Sergey Makhno Architects, a Kyiv-based studio of Ukrainian contemporary design, architecture, and ceramics. For already 17 years Serhii and his team have been dedicating their works to glorifying Ukrainian contemporary style to world recognition.

Sergey Makhno Architects is a member of the Society of British and International Interior Design, a participant of Salone del Mobile.Milano Euroluce 2019, winner of the A' Design Awar & Competition, Red Dot Design Award, IDA Awards, and more.

Serhii Makhno is fascinated by the Ukrainian ceramics, contemporary art, Japan and wabi-sabi philosophy.

Shkrub Residential by Serhii Makhno The Shkrub house appeared out of love and for love — a loving couple with three kids. The DNA of the house includes the structuring aesthetic principles that find inspiration in Ukrainian history and culture inspired by Japanese wisdom. The element of earth as a material makes itself felt in structural aspects of the home, such as the original thatched roof and in the beautiful and dense textured clay walls. The idea of paying homage, as a founding place, can be sensed throughout the home, like a delicate guiding thread.
