Light Weaving Installation Art by CHIH LIANG LIU Light Weaving is an outdoor lighting installation shaped as a Christmas tree. The structure is made of laser cut stainless steel pipes forming 80 triangle units joined by more than 240 welded points. Acrylic yarn is woven by hand over the metal frame, following the weaving techniques of the indigenous people of Taiwan. Computer controlled LED lights and a light sensor adjust the colors to a timing system and to natural light, and the tone stays blue at midnight. The design brings delicate woven craft outdoors for public viewing.

Wonderland Landscape Installation by CHIH LIANG LIU Wonderland is a permanent landscape installation placed in a grassland area. The structure is built from concrete and stainless steel pipes, with hardwood ladders and interlocking tunnel spaces. A structural system based on triangles gives the installation stability. A young tree grows at the center of the stage and marks the balance between built form and nature. During the day, the ladders and tunnels serve as a recreation space, and the tree offers shade. At night, LED lighting in a blue tone creates a calm atmosphere in the grassland.

Blossoming Light Installation Art by CHIH LIANG LIU Blossoming Light is an outdoor lighting installation shaped like a giant flower. The structure is 7 meters high and 4 meters in diameter. Square stainless steel tubes form 88 triangular sections joined by more than 440 welded joints. The surface carries nearly 60,000 LED light points, allowing video to be shown across a full 360 degree view. Computer timing and a light sensor adjust the lights to natural and environmental conditions. The colors change slowly to suggest the passing of the four seasons. Six groups of metal flower decorations hold artificial flower arrangements.

Red House Exhibition by CHIH LIANG LIU Red House is an art installation created for a lantern festival in Taipei. The work forms a tunnel corridor of eight sides, built from stainless steel pipe and laser cut metal sheets. Each side carries carved images of the Ximending area placed in chronological order, starting with the Red House building of 1908. Computer controlled LED lights illuminate the panels and brighten the street. Fluorocarbon baking paint protects the surfaces for long term display. Visitors walk through the corridor and read the history of the city through pictures rather than text.
