Australian Chinese, Ian Hau is the founder of XLMS. The studio is focused on creating innovative environments for new emerging ‘knowledge based’ communities. These include ‘new workplace’, lifestyle and ‘experiential’ retail.

Ian has lead international multi-discipline design teams, whilst instigating design concepts and client interface for large scale mixed use projects in the Asia Pacific Region. Key projects include Doha Asia Games stadium, Dream Centre Shanghai, Luijazhui ES4 masterplan Shanghai , XiXi Hangzhou Wetland Park Masterplan and Campfire Co-working Projects in Hong Kong.

As a qualified architect, Ian served as a founding and council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design and as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture at Hong Kong University.

Reckitt Benckiser Office by Ian Hau - XLMS Limited Workplace Design and Build by XLMS. This new Hong Kong is a place where Reckitt Benckiser’s people can collaborate to excel. Located in Hong Kong’s vibrant district of Wan Chai. Consisting of a series of cool spaces or ’social infrastructure’ include, booth seating, pantry spaces, workshop areas, help employees feel empowered and create opportunities to co-create and innovate.

Mountain Court Apartment Design and Construction by Ian Hau - XLMS Limited The original layout of of this building by back in 1985 was 2 bedroom layout, the client is a family of 4 and requested 3 bedroom layout with plenty of storage. The users likes to entertain family and have planned the open kitchen design, there is also opportunity to enclosed the kitchen during cooking or family time. We have also custom made an UK import materials called Forresso as the dinning table with matching backing to the display shelf. The building itself have light weight brick at the underside of the slab for soundproofing, in which the low ceiling was inherited from this building.
