Giuliano RicciardiGiuliano Ricciardi approached design shortly after finishing high school practicing at a carpentry workshop of where he learned the basics and manual skills needed to wood work. This learning experience lasted 3 years, until he was noticed by the owner of an important Architect Studio in Taranto who offered Giuliano to join his team at KinoWorkshop,as a draftsman. these professional experiences inspired him to pursue Graduate Studies in Industrial Design. Oriented to the use of raw wood material, limiting the use of other materials as much as possible, he’s gradually extending the range of materials of interest to ceramics, metals and polymers, giving his concepts and products balance between technique and material.
by by by TuttoTondo Washbasin by Giuliano Ricciardi TuttoTondo is a luxury monolithic washbasin that combines the refinement of marble with the hi-tech charm of steel. The concept comes from the desire to make the washbasin the fulcrum around which the bathroom takes shape, as the old bedroom washbasin. The system consists of marble elements joined together by steel ferrules. These can in turn accommodate a series of accessories of various types and sizes, such as mirrors, shelves, containers, which enrich the aesthetics and functionality of TuttoTondo, completing the concept and making it configurable according to the most different needs. Risetta Packaging by Giuliano Ricciardi Risetta is a simple, functional, easy to carry, ecofriendly, which follows the shapes of the traditional fruit box, symbol of recycling. Designed in laser cut plywood, Risetta has a modern, captivating, innovative design. Tub made with a single sheet of plywood, made flexible thanks to laser cutting in the bending points. Holes, in place of the slits, to make the structure more resistant. Cork supports which, housed in the holes, allow various assembly methods for set up sales point or temporary shop. It finds dimension inside home becoming a piece of furniture. Forrest Bench by Giuliano Ricciardi Forrest is a monolithic bench which bases its elegance to the minimal and clean shape and to its projecting structure covered with porcelain stoneware that embellishes the surfaces. Thanks to these elements, it's possible to perfectly emulate any stone, wood or metal while maintaining the technical advantages (durability, lightness, resistance, etc.) that such materials usually do not provide. The structure is completed by the lightened corten support made almost evanescent by plasma cutted textures and by the led light placed under the projection that offers pleasant plays of shadows. Bilico Table by Giuliano Ricciardi Bilico is a modular garden table that owes its name to the structure composed of modules which, ending in a single support stand, make the table visibly unstable. Thanks to its modularity, it is possible compose tables from the smallest circular shape one, with two opposite heads, to the ideal infinity using central modules. The table, made of Pietra di Trani (a typical stone marble from Trani area), is completed by the central tub, led light equipped, where the accessories (trays, flower stands, lamps, cutlery trays, cutting boards, etc.) are housed. Iedde Mussel Knife by Giuliano Ricciardi The Grammella, a tool used to shell Taranto black mussels, is a typical object of Taranto, Italy. Iedde is the result of a redesign operation focused on the analysis of the traditional tool, its use, the historic and geographic context and mussel. The ergonomics of the tool derives from the handle, whose shapes lend themselves to being received in the palm and from the blade that arises spontaneously following the curve of the grip, to connect harmoniously to the base. This makes the tool easy and comfortable to handle. Iedde is an iconic tool that represents the maritime culture of the city. |
