Wenkai Xue, the director of National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA, a member of the China Artists Association, employed as a professor, vice-president and postgraduate tutor in The School of Industrial Design in LuXun Academy of Fine Arts, who has published a plenty of design works, papers, treatise, achievements and projects, now is working in the industrial design teaching research and design practice.

Re-leaf Tree Pool by Wenkai Xue In each autumn, fallen leaves are everywhere on the street, not be used. To figure out a way of fallen leaves and give trees more fertilizer, the team find a solution in the tree pools design. Return to the Roots is the solution of fallen leaves. Semi-closed tree pool can effectively avoid water runoff. Trees are spread fertilizer which is rot by their own fallen leaves in the enclosed space formed by the tree pool, so as to increase soil nutrients and stimulate tree growth.

Convenience Temporary lavatory by Wenkai Xue Convenience is a temporary lavatory which is incorporating urban sewage. It can be placed anywhere with a sewer line and manhole cover. Because of the unique appearance, the pass water will be discharged into sewage well directly by the urinal. And it can be self-cleaning on rainy days. The municipal apartment can remove the cover and put Convenience on the top of discharge. After setting it, workers can put the manhole cover in the groove which is between two urinals’ back. The grooved-putting cover can make the product balance during service time.

Bamboo Joint Screwdriver by Wenkai Xue This design has sections which are equipped by various tool bits. Plus and minus combinations can change its total length, which makes it adapt to various spaces and easy to carry. The tool holder of it is easy to insert and unplug and its grip feeling is excellent. And a striking symbol on its tool bit makes customers’ choice and intuitive. Through the satisfaction unit sections’ buying, gathering, assembling, using, and storing bring, customers develop the brand loyalty and tool storage habits and reduce resource waste.

Free and Easy Easel by Wenkai Xue At present, similar easels during using time, the existing triangle easels block space, is really affects the sight artists and tutorship of teachers. Free and Easy is a solution for these problems and also can be used in a variety of use scenarios, such as small studio of SOHO crowd, outdoor sketch, classroom application of art class, etc. It is easy to pull and carry, fitting for the car trunk,also has reasonable space for color palette and painting tools. It is convenience for assembly and transportation, flat and neat shape in storage, space saving and greatly reducing transportation cost.

Hero Fire Truck by Wenkai Xue Hero explores the application of IOE in the fire protection industry, optimizes the functions of existing fire trucks. In order to integrate the interactive screen, firefighters can generate preset data such as foam ratio and water displacement for direct use on site. At the same time, multiple drones are added to assist fire extinguishing with fire extinguishing bombs and other devices. The principle of infrared thermal imaging is used to detect the fire situation, and the feedback is sent back to the screen. It can bring a new dawn to the fire protection industry.

Fenced Traveler Pet Outing Bag by Wenkai Xue Fenced Traveler is a design concept redefining the pet outing bag, increasing the interaction, and changing the experience of people and small pets in outdoor entertainment. When you need to take your pets outdoors for entertainment, just put your pets into Fenced Traveler. After you reach the lawn, put down the bag and form a closed outdoor space through the built-in structure, and then release the pets for entertainment interaction. While feeling the natural environment, Fenced Traveler can liberate pet owners, protect the safety of pets, and allow each other to play more freely.

Luf Seedling Trays by Wenkai Xue In order to actively respond to the rural revitalization strategy, on the basis of considering regional and functionality, relevant strategies for the use of loofah materials in the design of seedling trays were proposed. The development model of converting plastic seedling trays from cradle to grave to loofah biodegradable trays from cradle to cradle. Break the loofah and hot-press glutinous rice glue to synthesize new materials. A single person can carry more than five trays. Transplanted into the soil and degraded into nutrients.

Mila 3D Printed Vase by Wenkai Xue Mila is a series of vases. Inspired by the chimneys on the roof of Mira Apartment, their curves and textures were refined to create the Mila series of vases. The collection includes vases in three different sizes, large, medium and small. Corresponding to different planting needs. Thanks to the use of veroClear translucent material based on Polyjet 3D printing technology, the vase appears hazy and mysterious. Moreover, the set of vases is an integrally formed double-layer structure, and the overlapping of the outer surface and the inner tank greatly enriches the layering of the vase.

Photosynthetic City Biomass Power System by Wenkai Xue Photosynthetic City is a project designed to alleviate the burden of fossil energy on the environment. The photosynthetic city consists of two parts. The first part is the solar utility installed on the roof part. The second part is the biomass power generation device, which uses the plant waste planted on the side of the building to provide fuel for the CHP steam turbine power generation device to generate electricity. In this way, the impact on the environment is reduced, and a large number of plantings are also beneficial to the environment.

Tubedex Bus Station by Wenkai Xue Tubedex, a new bus stop designed for post industrial cities, draws inspiration from industrial pipes and gives it a modern aesthetic by deconstructing this iconic element while preserving traces of industrial history. The design uses an interactive interface to ensure high recognition while clearly displaying real time bus information, significantly enhancing the user experience. Tubedex not only continues the industrial memory of the city, but also breathes new life into public facilities through innovative design.

Triangledex Bus Stop by Wenkai Xue The Triangledex bus stop is built on the foundation of deconstructivist aesthetics, attempting to explore more possibilities for the design of bus stops in post industrial cities. The final presentation of a soft yet rigid triangular element gives it a more sporty feel. In addition, the design utilizes an interactive interface to ensure high recognition rates while clearly displaying real time bus information. Triangledex not only continues the industrial memory of the city, but also injects new vitality into public facilities through innovative design.
