Yoshihiro MatsuuraWhat I value most when I design architecture is whether my plan is useful to make people more affluent or not.
I always think about it while designing houses. And when I think about arts, I always think what the arts mean to us.I believe that the design exist for the pursuit of the essential aim. When I design something, I think I need to pursue thoroughly what the product is aiming for. Without understanding deeply about that, the designer cannot create an advanced design. Every person has some problems, and they want the designer to find the solution. And when I grasp the aim of the product clearly, I believe that I can provide solvable design, which is truly elegant, while using my imagination. Many idea of designing comes from nature, I think. I take a walk in the nature so often. There, many clues for designing are found. To make observation of the nature is very helpful for the design. Particularly, my local Tohoku district is severe cold in winter. That is especially why human being should observe how wild animals confront this severe nature. And we need to take a measure whether these clues are useful for human or not. Because I believe that all design exists for the person who uses it. Considering coexistence of human and nature leads to outstanding design, this is my belief. by by |
