I work as a freelance graphic designer in Berlin since 2013. In my home studio I develop multidisciplinary design solutions and concepts like corporate and editorial designs as well as web designs. If required, I works in house for clients too. In the past three years I worked for other design studios, small and medium-sized businesses as well as enterprises. I provide clean yet strong designs with a focus on typography. Besides that I am doing the art direction and publishing of a non-profit magazine together with friends.

Eyesbound Portfolio Website by Julia Hell Eyesbound is a portfolio website designed for a photographer. Full screen images form the main element of each page. The navigation elements are kept simple and can be hidden, so the photographs are not covered. The typographic logo is also shown in full screen mode, where it scales down and becomes transparent. Only black and white are used, from the logo to the backgrounds and the typography, so the emphasis stays on the imagery. The website is responsive and can be operated with a mouse or with the arrow keys.

Alpha Container Corporate Design by Julia Hell ACP Alpha Container Pictures is a corporate design created for a film production company based in Berlin. The logo combines the short form ACP with the complete company name. Two typefaces are used, a stencil font of the type applied to freight containers and a technical monospace typeface similar to typewriter lettering. The logo also introduces the color scheme, which appears on printed business documents and on the website. The letterhead measures 210 by 297 millimeters and the business card 55 by 85 millimeters. The responsive website opens with full screen video content.

Mrs T Corporate Design by Julia Hell Mrs T is a corporate design for a fine food manufactory that uses tea as an ingredient in baked goods and delicacies. The visual identity has a clean and elegant look, with mostly white packaging supported by three corporate colors. The logo acts as a frame that marks every item made in the manufactory, and it is applied in golden hot foil on the business cards. The chosen fonts recall handwritten labels and underline the handmade character of the goods. Bags and glass jars are sealed and labeled on the outside to protect the food inside.

Kon Paper Magazine by Julia Hell Kon Paper is a magazine for literature and culture. The magazine presents three sections: essay, feuilleton and word art. The layout explores the boundaries between text forms and places them in new contexts, with a separate grid for each section. Illustrations by changing artists accompany the texts. The format measures 220 by 275 millimetres and holds 52 pages, bound with two staples through the spine. Recycled paper and environmentally friendly inks are used for printing. The redesign of 2020 aimed at a durable magazine that readers keep on their shelves.
