Therese Virserius has enjoyed diverse educational and professional experiences that have allowed her to appreciate different cultures and provide a unique understanding of the global interior design landscape. She incorporates these various elements into her hospitality design projects.

After graduation from the prestigious New York School of Interior Design in 2003, she founded Therese Virserius Design, her interior architecture and design firm, where she began working on projects for hospitality clients such as Starwood Hotels and The Blackstone Group. The firm was rebranded Virserius Studio in 2013 when her sister, Regina Virserius, joined as creative director and head of the Paris office.

As Virserius Studio, the firm has expanded its global presence with projects in the North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa, and has received numerous acknowledgments and awards, most recently the 2015 International Hotel Property Award for Best Lobby/Public Space/Lounge for its work at the Hyatt Regency in Montreal, Canada and the 2015-2016 Golden A’ Design Award for Interior Space and Exhibition Design for Le Campus.

W Atlanta Luxury Hotel by Therese Virserius Arthur is a native Atlantan from the neighborhood located behind W Atlanta Midtown. Virserius Studio’s concept for the hotel is the recreation of Arthur’s estate and secret garden, decorated with his awe-inspiring collection of art and other items obtained during his extensive world travels. From the moment guests arrive they are transported into Arthur’s unique world and surrounded by his most treasured collections. They are embraced by the dramatically curved and abstract walls of the entry that set the tone for what’s to come.
