GMW ARCHITECTS is a London-based architectural and interior design practice formed in 1949. GMW, the initials of the founding partners Gollins, Melvin and Ward, represent a heritage of nearly 70 years of project experience on a wide range of building types in many parts of the world.

GMW MIMARLIK was established in April 2000 under the leadership of Ali Evrenay Özveren, then a senior partner of the practice, following the completion of the new international terminal project for Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Since then the Istanbul based practice has carried out 15 airport terminal projects (circa 1.2 million square meters in total) in various parts of the world and is now considered to be an architectural practice at the forefront of this project sector. In addition the practice has been responsible for a significant number of other projects including shopping centres, offices, hotels and residential developments. Now, the management of the practice is shared between Ali Evrenay Özveren, the managing director, and the two directors Dicle Demircioğlu and Pinar İlki Emekçi.

Project teams, led by one of the directors and associate directors, are formed by engaging carefully selected members of staff who jointly bring all the skill and experience required at all stages of the project, from concept design through detailed design and construction information to completion. Whether it is for a major transportation building or a small office fit out project, the practice takes pride in always providing the highest quality of professional service. Design management and co-ordination of the full team of engineers and specialist consultants is one of the core strengths of the practice.
GMW MIMARLIK is a member of the European Architects’ Alliance, a network of practices in 20+ European capitals. Through the network of offices, which extend through Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey and UK, the practices are able to provide a pan-European design service to their multi-national clients.
