Born 1975 in Hong Kong, Kevin Chu has always been a drawer. Ever since he can hold a pen he has been drawing and designing everything. From cars to planes, robots to building, landscape to aliens he can never stop!
From a young age Kevin Chu always knew he will be an artist, and subconsciously a designer. He went to England at an early age of 13 where he excelled in art and design, winning both the school’s highest art awards accolade. It was during his second year in high school that he realizes he wanted to pursue the path of design and dream of being an architect.
After high school he was accepted to The Architectural Association in London with a minimal entry grade, constituting him to be one the youngest architectural student in that year. After 2 years he went onto expand his architectural study in London University Bartlett School of Architecture where he was nominated for a scholarship and excelled in his investigation on experimental architecture.
He was awarded the only Archigram Architectural Breakthrough Design Prize for his final year project on Cluster Robotic Architecture and the work has been featured in several lectures in Germany, Spain, London and Portugal.
After graduating he stayed in London for several years to work and eventually returning to Hong Kong. He started his own design firm in 2006 to create highly original work which fuses architecture, art and design.
Ever since his work in London University he has always been fascinated on the theme of biomechanical transformation and he has always use drawing and painted to influence his design and vice versa. He has always been fascinated by plant and ocean life form and his lifelong passion is to fuse movement and physical alteration into any of his creation. Most of his architecture, interior, furniture design and artwork deals with transformation and movement as this is how we and our planet’s essence are. There is never a moment of static instant in anything and time and motion is constant in everything, according to him.
Since 2012 he change his company and design ideology to FABLAB (Future ARTchitecture Based Laboratory) where his theory on combining art and design is even explored further with the adaptation of highly experimental and advance sustainable technology.
Kevin Chu’s Architecture, Interior Design, Furniture and Artwork has all won awards in Europe and Asia and his work has been published in several avant-garde design magazine. He was nominated as one of the most creative designers coming out of Asia but what matters to him is always to push boundaries in any creative projects he encounters. As quoted by him once: “we are in the business of creating and we should always retain an unyielding loyalty to originality and never budge to any barriers or restraints!”

TCLGreen Sustainable Art Installation by Kevin Chu TCLGreen is a modular Grass inspired Art installation and can be adapted to any location. Recycled from over 3000 discarded computer circuit boards and illuminated at night entirely by the power of the sun. With a special bioluminescent coating that glows in the dark by absorbing both natural and artificial photons, it illuminates even without electricity. An included Artificial Intelligence system is embedded into the totems where the installation can "talk" to anyone organically. A special Metaverse Immersion is included once VR/AR goggles are worn.
